Staff and guests of ACT Construction (UK) Ltd recently enjoyed a successful inaugural Scottish charity lunch.

As headline sponsors, our company is delighted to hear that a large amount of money was raised for the charity, Unite Against Cancer, which helps to fund research into new cancer treatments.

The event took place on October 29, 2017, at Boclair House Hotel in Bearsden, East Dunbartonshire.

Magician Elliot Bibby entertained guests at the charity lunch.

Highlights included celebrity host Michelle McManus and a performance by the Abba tribute band, Abba A Revival. Magician Elliot Bibby also entertained the tables of guests throughout the lunch.

Anna Smrckova, ACT’s business development and client manager, was one of 11 ladies at the company’s table, which included ACT’s sponsored athlete  Kaz Cuthbert as guest of honour.

Anna said: “It was a brilliant afternoon with Michelle McManus so full of life and very good fun. She got the crowd going and ready for Abba A Revival, which was a real treat.

“The magician, Elliot, was phenomenal and really amazed some of the guests with his tricks.”

As well as the fun of the event, Anna reported that between £8,500 and £9,000 was raised for the chosen charity. She said: “It is superb that we all helped to raise this money for such a worthwhile cause.

“ACT was very happy to play an important role in launching the first Ladies Lunch for this Scottish charity and we hope there will be many more.”
