We are delighted to be able to wish both ACT sponsored hockey players, Kaz Cuthbert and Robyn Collins, the very best of luck at this year’s Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
Kaz and Robyn have been chosen as part of the Scotland Women team and will play in Pool B against Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and Ghana. Women’s Pool A has England, India, South Africa, Malaysia, and Wales drawn together.
Kaz, whose brother William Marshall is part of the Scotland men’s team, is also going to Australia as the Scotland Women’s captain.

She said: “I am overwhelmed to be captain of our amazing squad at the Gold Coast 2018.
“I am proud that William is coming, too, and I would like to thank all my family, friends and sponsors for their relentless support.”
The Gold Coast 2018 announcement by Team Scotland and Scottish Hockey was made at Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Art Museum and Art Gallery with members of both squads in attendance.

Scottish Hockey CEO David Sweetman is reported as saying: “We’re incredibly proud to announce such exciting hockey squads for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.
“I’d like to offer my congratulations to all the athletes selected. This announcement is a great testament to the hard work and dedication shown by each athlete in the squads.
“Our players and staff are fantastic ambassadors for hockey and we look forward to cheering them on as they compete in Australia; and we wish the whole of Team Scotland the very best of luck for April’s Games.”
Build up to Gold Coast 2018
The Scotland Women squad has a two-match test series against Ireland in Glasgow coming up as they prepare for Gold Coast 2018. More than 1,000 school children from across Scotland will cheer the team on and give the squad a huge support as they set off for Australia.
ACT Construction (UK) Ltd has organised a special send off event for our sponsored athletes who going to the Gold Coast. This will include Kaz, Robyn and the champion swimmer Ross Murdoch, as well as two more who will be announced very soon.
“An evening with our athletes” takes place in Glasgow in March with a Commonwealth theme.
Anna, from ACT, said: “We wanted to do something to mark the occasion of our sponsored athletes heading off to the Gold Coast and so we have invited them to a relaxed, Commonwealth Games themed evening.
“It will be great to give them a special ACT send off alongside family, friends, ACT staff, clients and suppliers.”
