ACT is sponsoring Scotland Senior Women’s Captain Kareena “Kaz” Cuthbert (nee Marshall).

Kaz, who started her hockey career at Greenock Hockey Club aged seven, boasts an impressive player CV with more than 100 Scottish caps.

The centre defender’s highlight achievements include being part of the winning 2011 European Trophy team and sixth in the European Championships 2015, during which she was scored a goal against England.

The 29-year-old played in the Commonwealth Games 2010 in Delhi but was forced to miss out on Glasgow’s Commonwealth Games due to injury.

The centre defender is also coach and manager of the increasingly successful Western Wildcats, based in Milngavie.

Kaz, a physiotherapist, reveals the sponsorship comes at the perfect time.

She said: “The Scotland squad are focusing on some big competitions coming up, including the World Cup qualifiers, the European Champs later this year and the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games in 2018.

“We need to take a lot of time off work for training, travel and competitions and the financial support is invaluable in allowing us to pursue our sport. We are very grateful to Ken and ACT.”

Kaz’s future goals include playing in the next Commonwealth Games.
