Robyn, 24, fell in love with the sport of hockey when she visited the UK from her home country of South Africa as a child. During the holiday she enrolled on a hockey camps and discovered she has a natural talent for the sport.

When the family then moved to Nottingham and after that to Glasgow, Robyn was able to immerse herself more in hockey.

She has not looked back and among her many successes she won a silver medal at the Home Nations in 2010 and in 2013 was selected for Team GB at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival.

Robyn, who gained a degree at Loughborough University and now lives and works in London, has been with the Scotland Senior Squad for three years.

She says: “The ACT sponsorship is a massive help for me and will make a huge difference. It allows me to train and to keep playing at national level.

“As hockey players we make a lot of sacrifices, especially financially, so to have the benefit of a sponsor is amazing. I am very grateful to Ken and ACT.”

Robyn’s aspirations include playing in the next Commonwealth Games.
