ACT Construction (Europe) Ltd is delighted to welcome Carla Godsman to the company in a newly created role as social media and marketing executive.

Carla has recently returned home to Scotland from the US, where she studied at The University of Vermont (UVM). She completed a BS in Business Administration with a marketing concentration and psychology minor from The Grossman School of Business.

Her day-to-day responsibilities at ACT will focus on marketing campaigns and creating new and relevant social media content. She will also analyse and track ACT’s marketing efforts to see how the company’s online presence is growing.

Carla said: “I am looking forward to working at ACT and putting into practice much of what I have learned at college in America. I was a marketing focused student, while also building a solid foundation in several areas that cross over with marketing.”

She offers a couple of examples of the expertise learned during her degree. Carla said: “There is a great deal from my studies that will be relevant to my work at ACT. I was also fortunate to benefit from an on-line social media class one summer that exposed me to different online tools, such as Google Analytics and HubSpot.

“I plan to use these skills to increase ACT’s engagement online and communicate with our target market.”

Carla’s goal for ACT

It was a sports scholarship to play field hockey at the Division 1 level that took Carla to UVM.

She said: “Being a student athlete required a great deal of dedication both to my sport and studies. I had a very busy schedule.

“There was early morning gym sessions, weekend travel, running from class to practice, study hall hours and extra curriculars.

“It taught me a  lot about how to manage my time effectively, how to plan ahead and how to focus on what is important to get good results.”

Carla’s aim at ACT is to bring her “tech-savvy Gen Z knowledge” to the company and to build brand awareness.

She said: “ACT prides itself on high quality outcomes, value for money and the delivery of projects on time.

“My goal is to tell more people about ACT and to hopefully bring in more business by sharing news and information about the company.

“I also hope that potential ACT customers will feel as though they have a greater understanding of the professional hands-on work of ACT after visiting our social media pages.”
